Madrid, 13 November 2023. Metrovacesa, Spain’s leading real estate developer with more than 100 years of history and more than 150 projects under development nationwide, presents KALIO, a cutting-edge application that revolutionises the customer experience in the home buying and selling process.

KALIO is a wallet designed for users with virtual currency interested in buying a Metrovacesa home. The application allows them to request the payment of the pre-reservation of the selected property with USDT, a stablecoin (stable virtual currency). From KALIO, the customer can view the NFT that represents the status of the sale and purchase process of the home they have purchased from Metrovacesa. The NFT is certified by TrustOS, Telefónica Tech’s managed blockchain platform.

The NFT is dynamic and non-transferable, and will be updated as the sale and purchase process progresses, from pre-reservation, reservation, private sale and purchase contract, to the delivery of the property, and the customer will be able to access discounts and exclusive services specific to each of the statuses. These services include benefits from firms such as idealista, IKEA, Qlip and Lateua.

This project, a national pioneer, has been developed for the promoter by Bit2Me, the first exchange recognised by the Bank of Spain. An exchange is a virtual platform where investors exchange digital currencies for fiat money or vice versa, as well as for other virtual currencies. Bit2Me is the leading Spanish company in the digital asset ecosystem and already has one million users and more than three thousand companies. Telefónica, Inveready and Invescorp are part of its capital.

Carmen Chicharro, Commercial, Marketing and Innovation Director of Metrovacesa, said: “KALIO opens a new channel for customers with digital currency and promises to revolutionise the way in which these customers interact with the purchase and acquisition of real estate, providing a unique and pioneering experience in the sector. The partnership with Bit2Me brings together two sectors that are destined to meet”.
