Tuesday 16 July 2019, Malaga. The official international presentation of the Picasso Towers project took place last Tuesday, attended by the Malaga-born actor Antonio Banderas, who will be the image of the promotion. The event was held in the marquee positioned on the site where the three towers will be constructed, at the centre of the seafront promenade of Torre del Río at Calle Pacífico 154.
Introduced by journalist Paula Sánchez Mercado, the event was also attended by the Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre; the project’s developer Miguel Fajardo Hermoso; José Ignacio Carrión, the regional manager of Metrovacesa; Jorge Pérez de Leza, the CEO of Metrovacesa; Pedro Rodríguez, the president of Sierra Blanca Estates, and Carlos Lamena, the architect of Picasso Towers.
Following the presentation, the more than 400 guests enjoyed a cocktail party where they were able to learn all the details of this new development that will mark a before and after in the projection of Malaga as a residential city, as well as upgrading the western end of the seafront and restoring some of the old enclaves in this part of the city.
Metrovacesa and Sierra Blanca Estates have united to bring the Picasso Towers project to life in an alliance that will bring a new concept of quality and luxury to Malaga. The project will position Malaga as a cosmopolitan, innovative city that meets the needs of the citizens of the world.
The Picasso Towers project
The project consists of three ultra-luxury tower blocks designed by Carlos Lamela, the architect of a project that has put a particular emphasis on integration with the surrounding area and its proximity to the sea in an outstanding urban and geographical location on the western coast of Malaga (Torre del Río), as well as the criteria of energy efficiency, environmental sustainability and accessibility.
The Picasso Towers project was designed using vertical architecture to take advantage of the available space and convey a feeling of freedom with spectacular sea views. The shape of the design mimics the movement of the waves, creating spaces full of light.
Although the development is not yet on sale, it has already attracted the attention of both local and international businesses with an interest in acquiring a home in Malaga along with its enviable quality of life, while at the same time remaining connected to the wider world.
The complex will cover an area of 86,963 m² and consists of three residential tower blocks with 21 floors each. It encompasses a total of 213 apartments of between 132 m² and 404 m² with spacious balconies affording views over the Malaga coastline. The first block, to be named Living, will have three swimming pools – one heated and two outdoor – a spa, gym, private screening room, games room, co-working zone and even a nursery. These will be smart apartments featuring the latest technologies. The entire complex is expected to be completed by 2023, although the first apartments are planned to be delivered at the end of 2021.
