  • The developer has signed the letter of adhesion to this initiative, which seeks to achieve climate neutrality in the city of Valencia by 2030 and of which 145 entities are already members.
  • Metrovacesa thus takes another step forward in its strong commitment to respecting and preserving the environment, boosting the economy and supporting the societies in which it operates and develops its projects.

Madrid, September 13, 2022. Metrovacesa, a real estate developer with more than 100 years of history and more than 120 projects under development nationwide, has joined Missions Valencia 2030. The project, promoted by the Valencia City Council and the Las Naves innovation center, aims to improve the city and the living conditions of the people who live in it, using the opportunities that innovation and research provide. The ultimate goal of the initiative is to create an ecosystem that involves public entities, companies and citizen organizations so that the city can achieve climate neutrality by 2030.

In line with its Sustainability Strategy (ESG24), Metrovacesa remains committed to environmental respect and social commitment as key elements of its urban developments, joining knowledge and innovation networks that have a positive impact on local communities and the quality of life in cities. Likewise, with this new project the developer reinforces the promotion and monitoring of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), contributing directly to SDG 11, “Sustainable Cities and Communities”, focused on making cities more inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

Following this latest addition, the Missions Valencia 2030 network now groups 145 ambassador entities that commit, within their scope of action and to the extent of their possibilities, to direct their activity and part of their resources towards the promotion of research and innovation, in order to have a positive impact on one of the goals set. It seeks to involve the whole of Valencian society and the entire economic, innovative and social ecosystem of the city: the private sector, the public sector, academia, civil society, the media and citizens.

Almudena Cano, head of Sustainable Urban Development at Metrovacesa, said that “At Metrovacesa we develop our development activity by promoting initiatives of an economic, social and environmental nature, with the aim of generating a positive impact on society as a whole. For this reason, we are particularly pleased to announce our adhesion to Missions Valencia 2030 which, within the framework of our ESG24 Strategy, reinforces our firm commitment to collaborate in raising public awareness of sustainability and the ecological balance of the planet”.
