Metrovacesa hands over the first homes at Málaga Towers Living and moves forward with improvements to its surroundings and redevelopment

• The Living Tower, part of the Málaga Towers development, is a clear example of Metrovacesa’s commitment to contributing to the development of the urban environment and public roads by promoting new spaces, squares and access pavements, or the adaptation of the coastal and beach areas.

• In order to care for and preserve the quality of the environment, the developer focuses on the design and implementation of various urban planning strategies, in line with its sustainability and social welfare policies.

• The project has played a key role in mitigating the city’s environmental impact thanks to the circular economy, whereby the developer has provided 160,000 tonnes of beach sand for the regeneration of the coastline.

Malaga, 09 February 2024. Metrovacesa, a real estate developer with more than 150 projects nationwide, has been creating homes and transforming environments, some of them in disuse, into new spaces for more than 100 years in order to offer emblematic buildings that are integrated with the environment and improve the quality of life in cities.

The Living Tower has already started the delivery of its first homes. It consists of 1,500m2 of premises and offices on which 71 multi-family dwellings with 1 to 4 bedrooms are built. It has spacious flats and includes exclusive private communal areas such as the heated indoor swimming pool with its solarium area, fully equipped gymnasium, coworking area and leisure areas for children such as the games room and audiovisual room, as well as an outdoor infinity pool on the penthouse floor. The homes have been designed by Estudio Lamela, based on the concept of exclusivity and innovation.

With an investment of 73.6 million euros, the project has delivered 50 homes and 95% of the units have been sold. The development is expected to be fully completed by 2024.

The Living tower is part of the Málaga Towers project, which also includes the Vision tower, already under construction. Málaga Towers is one of the developer’s most iconic projects, which is committed to revitalising the area in which it is located: from the improvement and restructuring of streets, to the creation of public squares and spaces for all publics, as well as sanitation work and responsible methods to contribute to the environment.

At the same time, the developer continues to make progress and implement improvements in the area surrounding the project. For this development, redevelopment and improvement works have been carried out on the following streets: C/ Ayamonte, C/ Camino de la Térmica, Avda. de Moliere and its intersection with C/ Pacífico, and the extension of the pavement of C/ Pacífico. These works were put into service in 2021. In addition, a tank has been built for the sewerage and rainwater pipes under Avda. de Moliere and at the connection with C/ Pacífico, which constitutes a basic infrastructure of the city, also put into service in 2021.

The sector envisages the creation of a public square with a total surface area of 12,887.69 m2 including pedestrian walkways, landscaped areas and a children’s playground.

In addition, in its commitment to implement circular economy measures, Metrovacesa has contributed 160,000 tonnes of beach sand for the regeneration of the city’s coastline. Over the last 5 years, the company has recovered the sand from the earthworks produced by its projects in Torre del Río, Halia and Málaga Towers, after passing the corresponding tests and biological controls. This sand has been donated free of charge to the Port Authorities and the Coastal Authority for the regeneration of the beaches in the area.

In this sense, these projects have contributed to the optimisation of the use of resources and waste management to mitigate Malaga’s environmental impact.

Metrovacesa’s commitment to Malaga

With the aim of responding to the growing demand for housing in the capital of Malaga, Metrovacesa has contributed to the construction of new residential developments with other projects such as Halia in Torre del Río, Citrea in Colinas del Limonar, La Araucaria in Plaza de la Solidaridad, Huerta Nueva in Ciudad Jardín and La Reserva de San Antón, in the eastern part of the capital.

With these developments, Metrovacesa promotes the habitability of the cities in which it is present through urban sustainability policies, with Malaga being a key enclave.
