Metrovacesa makes progress in the construction of Altos de Parque Serralta

  • The Local Government Board of Barakaldo Town Council has authorised the construction, above ground level, of the ALTOS DE PARQUE SERRALTA development, one of the two developments being carried out by Metrovacesa in the UE-21 “Parque Serralta”.

Bilbao, 21 November 2023. METROVACESA, a real estate developer with more than 100 years of experience in Spain and more than 150 projects nationwide, has obtained authorisation from the Local Government Board of Barakaldo Town Council to build above ground level on the Altos de Parque Serralta development. The building permit, which was granted in July 2022, was conditional on the approval of the specific Zoning Plan for the UE-21 “Parque Serralta” Execution Unit, located within the Special Acoustic Protection Zone (ZPAE), which affected all the developments in the area.

The Zonal Plan delimits the areas in which, in order to achieve the acoustic quality objectives, a series of specific measures are required, which have been adopted in the project, and significant progress has been made in the works with the construction of the buildings below ground level. Currently, the construction company Eraikuntza Birgaikuntza Artapena (EBA), in charge of the works, will continue with the rest of the structure, the progress of which is recorded on the website in the “Customer Portal” section.

In recent years, the Barakaldo neighbourhood has gained prominence with the recovery of its former industrial areas, giving way to new green spaces, such as the Serralta Park, located in one of the most attractive areas of the city and which will house 57,000 m2 divided between gardens, children’s areas and walking areas.

With excellent connections to Bilbao and the city centre, Altos de Parque Serralta will have 121 homes distributed in four buildings of between six and nine storeys. The residential complex of modern, functional and comfortable design offers various housing models adapted to different needs, from smaller two-bedroom flats to larger three-bedroom homes, and also has one-bedroom adapted homes reserved for people with permanent reduced mobility. In addition, the homes in the development stand out for their luminosity, achieved thanks to their double orientation, with large terraces, as well as a garage and storage room.

 

Efficient and sustainable urban development

In line with its firm commitment to sustainability, Metrovacesa’s new urban development will have the highest energy rating. The developer continues its commitment to efficient urban development, improving the quality of cities through developments with the highest sustainability criteria, as well as reducing CO2 emissions and optimising energy consumption.

Like the Altos del Parque Serralta residential complex, the developer’s second development in this area, Natura Serralta, meets the highest efficiency standards. In fact, both stand out for having the Domum certificate, a rating system that allows Metrovacesa’s developments to be categorised according to their level of sustainability, as well as the GBCe Green seal. This second development is a 77-home building distributed in five buildings of up to nine storeys, which will house flats with between one and four bedrooms.
