Valencia, 4 October. A group of 140 French architects recently visited the former Vinival winery, located in Alboraya, to see first-hand the emblematic building and the ambitious refurbishment project that will turn it into the heart of a new eco-neighbourhood in La Patacona. This initiative, led by the renowned architect Juan Herreros and promoted by Metrovacesa, aims to transform the space through a resilient and sustainable urban design, connecting the orchard with the sea and proposing a more efficient and intelligent use of the environment.

During the visit, these architecture professionals working in France were able to explore the details of the urban plan, which not only seeks to revitalise the area, but also to integrate it harmoniously with the surrounding natural landscapes. The rehabilitation of the Vinival winery is part of an innovative approach to urban development that promotes sustainability, connection with the environment and a better quality of life for future residents.

This event is part of the dissemination, information and dynamisation activities that our Sustainable Urban Development department carries out, being a pioneer in the sector. Our work is not only focused on creating livable spaces, but also on transforming cities to make them greener, more inclusive and resilient to the challenges of the future.

The media, such as El Meridiano de l’Horta, have covered this visit, which took place within the framework of a seminar organised by the ‘Architectes Conseils de l’Etat’. This group of architects, together with the collaboration of the UPV and other institutions, has been gathering ideas and examples in Valencia on how water influences urban planning, drawing inspiration from local projects that integrate sustainability and the natural environment into their designs.

These types of professional exchanges not only strengthen the international projection of our cities, but also enrich the development of innovative urban projects that lay the foundations for a more responsible and environmentally connected future.
