Metrovacesa announces the three winning startups of the AI Challenge awards
- Atlas Real Estate, Makensia and Nidus Lab, have been selected as winners of this first edition, thus becoming partners of Metrovacesa.

Madrid, 8 October 2024. Metrovacesa, Spain’s leading real estate developer with more than one hundred years of history and more than 113 projects under development nationwide, has held the AI Challenge awards ceremony, awards created to recognise the three best artificial intelligence initiatives in the Spanish real estate sector. Atlas Real Estate, Makensia and Nidus Lab were the three winners selected from more than 50 nominations, following an evaluation carried out by a committee of experts.
The aim of the AI Challenge was to identify and reward those initiatives that, through the use of artificial intelligence, bring significant improvements to the value chain of the real estate sector. The awards were divided into three main categories: Marketing (Atlas Real Estate), Customer Experience (Makensia), Architecture and Sustainable Product Design (Nidus Lab).
Each of these companies will now begin an intense collaboration with Metrovacesa’s teams to carry out their pioneering proposals, which aspire to transform the real estate industry in our country. They will test in Metrovacesa innovation, efficiency, reduction of decision-making times and added value for its customers, through the strategic use of artificial intelligence.
The awards were presented on Tuesday 8 October at Google’s headquarters in Madrid, which brought together numerous experts from the real estate and technology sectors. During the event, a round table moderated by David Hueso Co-Founder of TheFringe/LABS was held, with the participation of Carlos Álvarez Ramallo, Managing Partner at CMA Tech & Santa Clara Properties; Miguel Ángel Melero, Director of People, Processes and Technology at Metrovacesa and Carmen Chicharro, Commercial Director of Marketing and Innovation at Metrovacesa.
The debate addressed the main challenges and keys for the implementation of technological projects in the real estate sector, as well as the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence to transform developers. In addition, the importance of frictionless technological integration and the management of cultural change within organisations was discussed.

AI Challenge as a hub for innovation in the real estate sector
The AI Challenge, which was announced on 28 May, also selected as finalists Architecture, BrainsRE, LaMagnética, LIS Data Solutions and Photolike, which presented innovative projects in the categories of Product Design and Architecture, Sustainability, Commercialisation, Process and Cost Efficiency, Customer Experience, Marketing and Aftersales.
The winning projects belong to three pioneering proptech startups in Spain that share a disruptive approach and integrate advanced technology and artificial intelligence-based solutions.
- Atlas Real Estate, through AI-based solutions, predicts market behaviour by creating digital twins of potential customers to increase sales rates, improve buyer understanding and reduce marketing costs.
- Makensia is a cutting-edge technology company that aims to transform businesses through AI-enabled intelligent assistants, optimising processes and increasing productivity. They offer customised AI solutions to maximise performance. They also protect data and assets with advanced cybersecurity tools.
- Nidus Lab is a company that revolutionises real estate development with AI-based software through its technology that validates land potential and automates early and sustainable architectural design. This reduces time-to-market and risk, bringing great value to architects and developers.
