Metrovacesa begins construction of Abora, 138 new homes in Adeje

Tenerife, 8 January 2026. Metrovacesa, a property developer with over a hundred years of history, has begun work on Abora, its new residential project on the Costa Adeje. The complex, located in one of the most sought-after areas in south-west Tenerife, reinforces the developer’s commitment to high-value locations in the archipelago and marks a new milestone in its expansion on the islands.

The development will involve an investment of €55.97 million and will consist of 138 multi-family homes with 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms, distributed across a modern five-storey building. The homes, which are up to 200 square metres in size, stand out for their large terraces facing the ocean, as well as for including a garage and storage room in all their types. The project also includes a series of communal areas designed to promote well-being, including a swimming pool and gym.

“Abora represents a decisive step in Metrovacesa’s consolidation in the Canary Islands. Not only are we expanding our presence in Adeje, but we are also promoting high-value housing in one of the most dynamic tourist areas in the archipelago,” says Luis Batista Rodríguez, Development Manager at Metrovacesa’s North Central branch. ‘It is a project designed for clients who are looking for quality, design and a direct connection with the Canary Islands lifestyle.’

Designed by the Makin Molowny Portela Arquitectos studio, Abora is located just 200 metres from the sea, in the heart of Playa Paraíso, an area in constant evolution that combines luxury hotels, shopping areas, gastronomic offerings and direct access to natural spaces. Its location allows residents to enjoy both the coastline and the interior of the island, with easy connections to places such as Teide National Park and the main tourist centres in the south of Tenerife.

The development has been designed according to advanced energy efficiency and sustainability criteria, achieving the highest energy rating (A) in terms of consumption and CO₂ emissions. Among the measures incorporated are the use of aerothermal energy for domestic hot water production, eco-efficient materials and low-consumption LED lighting systems. The project adheres to Metrovacesa’s Domum Commitment, reinforcing its commitment to responsible construction.

Abora is located in an area that is home to some of the most outstanding hotels, boutiques and gastronomic venues on the Costa Adeje. Its excellent transport links provide easy access to both the beaches in the south-west of the island and nature trails and the Teide National Park. This combination of climate, services, coastal environment and nature makes Playa Paraíso a privileged enclave for enjoying a Mediterranean lifestyle with its own Canarian identity.
