Malaga, 12 June 2025. Metrovacesa, Spain’s leading real estate developer with over 100 years of experience, has started work on its new Costa del Sol Abril development in Casares, Malaga. With an estimated investment of 18.4 million euros, this exclusive residential project will offer 65 multi-family homes with 2 and 3 bedrooms, including ground floor apartments with gardens and spectacular penthouses with large terraces and private swimming pools, all with unobstructed views of the sea or the natural surroundings.
Conceived as a space for wellbeing, this development combines modern architecture, an unrivalled natural environment and high quality services. Its communal areas include an infinity pool with beach, gym, spa, zen space, calisthenics area, panoramic viewpoint overlooking the golf course and large landscaped gardens. All homes have parking space and storage room.
The project is the work of the MAD Arquitectura architectural studio, led by Roberto Barrios and Elisa Cepedano, who have managed to find the perfect balance so that the architecture adapts to the environment in a friendly way and thus offer a quality project for the Doña Julia Golf enclave. The works have been awarded to the construction company Amenábar Obras y Proyectos, S.L., specialised in efficient and responsible building, which will apply advanced techniques to reduce the environmental impact throughout the construction process.
Avant-garde design and sustainability as a hallmark of the project
Abril will be certified under the standards of the VERDE Seal, a recognition that guarantees that the project complies with the best practices in sustainability and energy efficiency. In addition, the development complies with Metrovacesa’s Domum commitment, which evaluates the quality of design, interior comfort and the protection of natural resources.
Metrovacesa has integrated the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in the initial phase of the project, allowing to identify and reduce the environmental impact at all stages of the building’s life cycle, from the extraction of materials to its eventual demolition and recycling. This approach contributes to environmental sustainability, energy efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Casares, a booming enclave on the Costa del Sol
The Abril development is located in a strategic area of Casares, less than 100 metres from the A7 motorway, next to the Doña Julia golf course and surrounded by nature, sea and mountains. Located between Finca Cortesín and the future Hilton Conrad, it offers an exclusive location with access to services, beaches, golf courses and connections to Estepona, Manilva and other key towns on the Costa del Sol, accessible from Malaga and Gibraltar airports.
