Manresa, 06 February 2024. Metrovacesa, Spain’s leading real estate developer with over one hundred years of history and more than 150 projects under development nationwide, has recently obtained the building permit for Nova Alcoholera, which will be integrated with the historic Manresa liquor factory, so construction will soon begin. An estimated 20.2 million euros will be invested in the project.
The development is integrated into the newly created public space around the chimney of the old liquor factory in Manresa, grouping together two buildings with a total of 98 multi-family dwellings. The properties are distributed over the six floors of both buildings, with layouts ranging from 2 to 4 bedrooms. All the homes include large outdoor terraces and access to a garage and storage room. For the design, Metrovacesa has enlisted the services of the Farres Frias i Associats Arquitectes studio, with which it has previously worked on other developments in Catalonia, such as Gasómetro, in Terrassa. The modern and elegant design, together with the architectural heritage in which it is framed, make the development an ideal place to live.
Nova Alcoholera also includes 32 subsidised housing units, with layouts of between 2 and 3 bedrooms located on different floors. With this development, the developer continues its commitment to offering affordable housing in Catalonia, where it has added this type of housing in projects such as Tetuán in Sabadell and Edifici Barberà in Barberà del Vallès.
The development is located on the grounds of the old Manresa liquor factory, next to the chimney that has recently been restored as part of the city’s artistic heritage, giving a second life to the infrastructures and adding to the supply of new-build housing in the town. In addition to the central location, this area offers quick access to the university and green areas such as Parc l’Agulla, as well as various health, educational, transport and commercial services.
The design and conception of Nova Alcoholera is based on high sustainability parameters, in line with Metrovacesa’s firm intention. In addition to guaranteeing efficiency and respect for the environment, they promote biodiversity to generate a positive impact on the community as a whole. This development has high energy and emissions ratings, as well as the developer’s own DOMUM and Green Seal, which qualifies it as a sustainable building. Among other measures, green roofs and aerothermal systems have been implemented.
Catalonia, a strategic axis for Metrovacesa
Metrovacesa currently has 29 active developments in Catalonia and 3 in Manresa, making it one of the developers with the largest presence in the region. The numerous employment, leisure and cultural offerings in Catalonia make it a highly desirable location for investing in a newly built home.
